  • Sanded down in preparation for painting: Late Fall of 2007 the caboose is now sanded down in the Lincoln Shops
  • Sanded down in preparation for painting: Work being done at the Hobo Railroad in Lincoln Fall of 2007. Not an easy job!
  • Our Neighbor: Coupled to an ex Amtrak car on the southend.
  • Hobo On Rutland 51: Long time railroader inspects the newly painted caboose and gives it his seal of approval.

  • Rutland 51: Dedicated to Harold A Davidson who worked as conductor on the real Rutland #51 in the 60's. He started working for the Rutland in 1915 finishing up with the Rutland in Sept 1961 due to a labor strike that finished the railroad.

  • Just about finished is the interior of Rut 51. The living quarters now has the comforts of home.

  • Lincoln Shops turned to smelly fuel oil soaked lockers into a clean storage area for wood, cloths, food and supplies.
  • Shortly after the stove was fired up the snow began to melt from the roof.
  • Ready for stocking and appliances in the spring.
  • New Arm Rests On the original caboose chairs.
  • A Neighbor In Lincoln Yard: Buried in the years snow so far on a adjacent track.
  • Sporting New Paint: The old CN 79775 now sports the Fallen Flag Rutland Colors
